4D Tech Help Center Find quick answers about fitment, orders, installation, and support. If your vehicle needs a closer look, our team can help. Start with your vehicle’s make, model, and year. Check the product’s Fits line and compatibility notes before ordering. For a Ford upgrade kit with different factory systems, match the photos to the system currently in your vehicle, not the screen or features you want to add. Ask us to check fitment if you are unsure. Some Ford upgrade kits require programming for your specific vehicle. We use the VIN to confirm vehicle details, prepare the kit, and support your order later. The VIN field appears where the product requires it. Standard shipping is free to all 50 U.S. states. Enter your shipping address at checkout to see available services, including paid expedited choices and shipping to Canada. Faster shipping does not shorten a programmed kit’s preparation time. Read Shipping & Delivery. We do not accept backorders. If Notify Me appears on the product page, enter your email to hear when the item returns. An in-stock item may ship the same business day when the current cutoff is met. A product that requires programming or other preparation can take longer. Carrier transit begins after preparation. Check the product page and Shipping & Delivery for current information. Yes. We email a tracking link when the shipping label is created. The first carrier scan may appear later, after the package is handed over. Contact us with your order number if tracking does not update. Shipping charges appear at checkout. The customer is responsible for customs charges, taxes, duties, and any carrier clearance or brokerage fees; we do not collect those charges at checkout. See Shipping & Delivery. Contact us with your order number and the item you want to return. If eligible, we will provide an RMA number and instructions. Ordinary eligible returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery. Do not send an item back without an RMA. See the full Returns & Exchanges policy for exclusions and fees. Unless a product listing states otherwise, our products carry a one-year warranty from purchase for the original purchaser. Contact us with your order details if something is not working as expected. We issue an RMA for every warranty claim. See Warranty & Support for full terms. Installing an aftermarket product does not automatically void your vehicle’s factory warranty. A manufacturer may deny coverage for damage caused by the product or its installation. Read our warranty explanation for more detail. For both Start / Stop Eliminators and Ford upgrade kits, visit your product page for the vehicle-specific installation video and instructions. Start / Stop Eliminators also include a printed quick-start guide in the package. Use the instructions for your specific product and vehicle. If the hardware looks different from the instructions, contact us before continuing. This is uncommon, but the message can appear after an installation that requires disconnecting the vehicle’s gateway module. It normally clears on its own. If the message persists, or you notice other vehicle problems, contact us with your vehicle year, model, and the exact message so we can help. On some vehicles, the parking-brake switch shares a connector with the Start / Stop switch. Disconnecting it while the vehicle is awake can trigger a warning. With the vehicle safely parked and your foot on the brake pedal, apply and release the parking brake twice. If the warning remains or the parking brake does not operate correctly, contact us before driving. For the black module shown in our connector-release photo guide, you can help release the latch or lower the module for better access. Do not pry the connector out. If your hardware differs from the photo, contact us first. Some 2025 vehicles and 2026-and-newer vehicles use the security-fastener bracket shown in our guide. If your bracket matches the photos, follow the illustrated bracket-access instructions. Contact us first if your hardware differs. Some trims have a larger telematics module in front of the gateway used for installation. Compare the before-and-after illustrations and access instructions. If your vehicle differs from both views, contact us with a photo before disconnecting anything. Disconnecting the connector during Start / Stop Eliminator installation can reset the power-running-board setting. Re-enable the running boards in the vehicle’s settings. The menu may appear under Settings → Advanced Settings → Vehicle → Power Running Boards; wording can vary by model year. If re-enabling them does not resolve the issue, contact us with your vehicle year. If you restart within one minute of switching the vehicle off, the device may not disable Start / Stop on that start. Turn the ignition off, wait at least one minute, then restart. If the problem continues, contact our team. Each successful run of the auto-fold mirror programmer toggles the feature between enabled and disabled. Solid green means enabled; flashing green means disabled. If it is disabled, run the programmer again following its instructions to enable it. Telescoping towing mirrors also require the additional harnesses specified on the auto-fold programmer product listing. Make sure those harnesses are installed. After successful programming, drive the vehicle a short distance, park, exit, close the door, and lock it as you normally would to check auto-fold operation. If the programmer reports enabled and the required harnesses are installed, but the mirrors still do not work as expected, contact us with your vehicle details and mirror type. The red light repeats a two-digit error code. Count the flashes in each group: two flashes, a short pause, four flashes, then a longer pause means code 24. The sequence then repeats. Codes 22 and 23 mean the programmer has already been used and locked to another vehicle. It cannot be used to program a different vehicle. If you see a different error code, or believe this programmer should work with your vehicle, contact us with the code, your order number, vehicle details, and a photo of the programmer’s label. Programmers with a white label and white circuit board plug in directly and do not require the black pigtail shown in older videos. Its absence on this revision is intentional. If your programmer looks different or you are unsure which instructions apply, contact us with a photo of the programmer. First check whether backup-camera functionality has been enabled through programming. Adding a camera does not by itself enable the camera view on every supported factory Ford screen. Check the instructions for your kit or interface. If you are unsure whether programming is required or has been completed, contact us with your vehicle, screen, and kit details before purchasing a programmer. If the screen already switches to a camera view but shows a blank image or error, check camera power and video connections. If the screen switches to camera view but no picture appears, first check the camera’s power source and video connections against the camera and interface instructions. For aftermarket cameras connected to the factory Ford screens we support, use ignition-switched power, not the reverse light. If the power source and connections are correct but the problem remains, contact us with your vehicle, camera, and interface details and the exact message shown on the screen. For the factory Ford screens we support, the aftermarket camera must use an ignition-switched power source—one that turns on and off with the vehicle. Do not power it from the reverse light. Follow the camera and interface instructions for wiring and electrical requirements. If you are unsure which connection to use, contact us with your vehicle, camera, and interface details before wiring it. On some early-production 2015 F-150s with the factory 360° camera system, older software in the camera-processing module (IPMB) can cause pixel distortion along the top of the camera view after a SYNC 3 upgrade. We recommend asking a Ford dealer to check and update the IPMB software for this symptom. Tell them about your 4D Tech upgrade and identify the IPMB as the module to check. Contact us before authorizing firmware or configuration changes to the SYNC module (APIM). If your vehicle or camera symptoms differ, contact us with the vehicle year and a photo of the screen. Certain 2020 F-150 vehicles were included in Ford recall 20C19 for a rear camera that could show a blank or distorted image. Coverage depends on the individual vehicle. Check your VIN with Ford or ask a Ford dealer to check open recalls and repair history. If no recall applies, have the camera problem diagnosed. Tell the service provider about any 4D Tech upgrade installed in the vehicle. A failing factory camera is a recurring issue we see on these vehicles. Symptoms can include an intermittent or missing picture, poor image quality, an upside-down image, or missing guidelines. In the cases we have handled with these symptoms, the factory camera has consistently been the cause. We strongly recommend having a Ford dealer check the factory camera and arrange replacement if confirmed. Tell the service provider about any 4D Tech upgrade installed in the vehicle. First check whether your vehicle has Ford’s camera-delay feature. It can keep the rear-camera view on after you shift out of Reverse. Available settings and when the image turns off vary by vehicle. Check your owner’s manual for camera-delay information. If the camera remains on beyond the behavior described there, contact us with your vehicle year, model, and kit details. For affected 2015–2022 F-Series conversions with the pictured mechanism, the temperature-knob gear may need alignment. Follow the illustrated gear-alignment guide if the knob is out of position or will not activate Max A/C or Max Defrost. Some 4-inch-to-8-inch conversion kits replace the radio bezel and its climate-control circuitry. After installation, the outside-temperature reading can take several drive cycles to settle as the system recalibrates. For affected kits with A/C and Recirculation buttons, you can reset the ambient-temperature reading while safely parked: If the reading remains inaccurate after several drive cycles, contact us with your vehicle details and the temperature shown on the screen. For our 2018 and 2019–2021 Expedition conversion kits, use the rear climate controls in the SYNC 3 touchscreen’s climate menu. The physical rear-seat temperature knob no longer adjusts temperature after the conversion. The touchscreen lets you adjust the rear temperature up or down, but does not display a rear temperature set point. The rear fan-speed, power, panel, and floor controls continue to work, as does the lock indicator. If your controls behave differently, contact us with your vehicle year and kit details. USB-hub illumination varies by kit. Most of our current SYNC 3 upgrade kits include a hub with illuminated rings around the ports, but not all do. If you are unsure what your kit should include, contact us with your order number and a photo of the hub so we can check. On affected 2016 vehicles, the original USB hub may not be compatible with the SYNC 3 software installed in your upgrade. We recommend replacing it with the correct compatible hub. Contact us with your vehicle year, model, and kit details so we can identify the right replacement. Correct seating is essential on this connector, used in many Ford upgrades and harnesses. Watch our 54-pin connector guide alongside your kit’s installation instructions. If radio/CD audio works but incoming phone-call audio or voice prompts do not, and your kit includes a programmer, run that programmer following the kit instructions to correct the audio control module (ACM) programming. If Bluetooth audio also does not work, follow your kit’s installation instructions to check the supplied harness for loose or unplugged connections. If your kit does not include a programmer, or the issue continues afterward, contact us with your vehicle and kit details. If the touchscreen works but there is no audio, including touch beeps, possible causes include an issue with the audio control module (ACM) or, on vehicles with a premium sound system, the amplifier/digital signal processor (DSP). This symptom alone does not confirm that either module has failed. Contact us with your vehicle and kit details so we can help diagnose the issue before you replace parts. We have encountered this issue on 2013–2014 C-MAX, Fiesta, Fusion, and Transit vehicles. If the station information does not change when you select another station, ask a Ford service provider to check the audio control module (ACM) software and whether an update applies to your vehicle. Ford SSM 44606 describes related radio-display issues on a different, specific list of vehicles: 2013–2014 C-MAX and Focus, and 2014 Fiesta and Transit Connect. Our experience extends beyond that bulletin’s listed vehicles; the service provider should confirm the appropriate correction for your vehicle. Tell the provider about your 4D Tech upgrade. This guidance concerns the ACM, not reprogramming the SYNC module (APIM). Contact us before authorizing APIM firmware or configuration changes. For affected 2017 Ford Super Duty and 2016–2018 Ford Fiesta vehicles, ask a Ford service provider to check the audio control module (ACM) and whether the software correction described in Ford SSM 48112 applies. Tell the provider about your 4D Tech upgrade. This guidance concerns the ACM; it is not a recommendation to reprogram your SYNC module (APIM). Contact us before authorizing APIM firmware or configuration changes, or if your vehicle is outside these model years. If incoming calls have no audio in Android Auto, try this SYNC 3 ringtone setting while parked: If the problem continues, contact us with your phone model and SYNC software version. Start with a known-good USB data cable in good condition that matches your iPhone: Lightning or USB-C. Connect it directly to the kit’s data-capable USB port. A phone charging does not by itself confirm a working data connection. USB-port lighting varies by hub; an unlit port does not necessarily mean there is a fault. Contact us with your phone model, kit details, and the checks you have tried if the issue continues. Our SYNC 3 upgrade kits use a wired USB connection for Android Auto. For current phone requirements and setup help, see Google’s Android Auto instructions and use the section for a USB connection. Bluetooth pairing alone does not provide Android Auto on these kits. If setup fails, contact us with your phone and kit details. No. The SYNC 3 upgrade kits we currently sell require a compatible USB connection and cable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth pairing alone will not start either feature. Use the data-capable USB port specified in your kit instructions, or contact us if your phone does not connect. All of our current SYNC 3 upgrade kits ship with SYNC 3 version 3.4. If you have an older kit and need help with its software, contact us with your order information and current SYNC software version. A known software issue associated with SYNC 3 versions 3.4.22251 and 3.4.23088 can cause settings not to save, a master reset to hang, or an update to fail with VER_ERR08. SYNC 3 version 3.4.23188 or later fixes this known issue. Use the appropriate update for your system. If you need help identifying the correct update for your 4D Tech kit, or the update will not install, contact us with your current SYNC software version and order or kit details. If you already have version 3.4.23188 or later and still have these symptoms, contact us for further troubleshooting. For the SYNC 3 systems we support, we recommend installing needed software updates by USB. If you need help identifying the correct update for your 4D Tech upgrade kit, contact us with your vehicle details and current SYNC software version. On our current Ford navigation upgrade kits, a SYNC master reset or normal user-installed SYNC software update will not remove the programmed navigation feature. Dealer changes to module firmware or configuration data are different and may affect the upgrade. Tell the service provider about the upgrade and contact us before authorizing that work. With the vehicle parked, use this procedure for SYNC 2: If the procedure does not start or the touchscreen still registers touches incorrectly, contact us with your vehicle and system details. Use the instructions for the system currently in your vehicle. A master reset clears saved phones and personal settings, but does not remove programmed navigation on our current Ford upgrade kits. See the SYNC 2 and SYNC 3 master reset guide. Start with a SYNC master reset and check the vehicle’s tire size. If tracking is still wrong, a Ford service provider can check whether the GPS module needs a software update. Follow the SYNC 2 tracking guide before arranging service, and tell the provider about your 4D Tech upgrade. Check the small GPS module T-harness connection. It can be mistakenly connected to the hazard/traction-control switch because the plugs fit both connections. See the correct connection in our F-150 installation guide. Point the angled wire exit away from the heatsink so the connector can seat fully and click into place. Compare the correct and incorrect GPS connector photos. The retention clip direction varies by module. Park outdoors with a clear view of the sky and allow the system time to acquire satellites. Follow the SYNC 3 GPS signal-strength video to view the satellite information. If you are troubleshooting with our team, send us a photo of that screen along with your vehicle year and a description of the problem. Yes, we support adding Travel Link on compatible navigation-equipped upgrades. Contact SiriusXM to arrange the subscription and explain that your vehicle has been retrofitted with navigation. If the agent’s records still show the original system, ask for a technical-support review of the upgraded equipment. Subscription availability and activation are handled by SiriusXM. If you need help identifying your kit, contact us. Our current Ford SYNC and navigation upgrade kits retain the vehicle’s existing SiriusXM radio ID, so an existing subscription continues after installation. If your subscription does not appear, contact us with your vehicle and kit details so we can help. If your vehicle already has FordPass or SYNC Connect remote features, our current Ford upgrade kits retain them. The kits do not add the separate vehicle modem to a vehicle that did not have those features. If you are unsure what your vehicle has, ask us before ordering. We answer email the same business day during support hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Eastern. Messages received after hours are answered the next business day.How can we help?
