Releasing a stubborn Start / Stop connector

Help Center / Start / Stop installation

The connector will not release

On the black module pictured below, pressing the connector's release tab with your finger may not fully disengage the locking notch. These two methods apply to this pictured module and mounting arrangement.

Do not pry the connector out. Use the screwdriver only to press the release latch. If your connector or module does not match the photo, contact us before using these methods.

Black module with a screwdriver pressing the connector latch inside a blue circle. Two mounting nuts are marked with amber circles.
Blue circle: latch-release location. Amber circles: the two 10 mm mounting nuts.

Option 1: Help the latch release

Follow your product's installation preparation steps. Position a flat-blade screwdriver at the latch location shown in blue, just in front of the tab you press with your finger. Apply a little additional pressure to release the locking notch, then pull the connector out. Do not use the screwdriver to lever or pry the connector apart.

Option 2: Lower the module for better access

Remove the two 10 mm nuts marked in amber to lower the black module and make the connector easier to reach. Release the connector and continue with your product's installation instructions.
