If something isn’t working as expected, contact us with your order number or dated receipt, product, vehicle details and a description of the issue. Every warranty claim requires an RMA number, which our team will issue. We can look up orders placed directly with us when you cannot find the order number.
Product warranty
Our products carry a one-year warranty from the date of purchase unless a different warranty is stated in the product listing. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. It covers eligible products purchased through 4D Tech sales channels, including our website and our Amazon listings, or from an authorized reseller. If you purchased from an authorized reseller, contact that reseller to initiate your claim; the reseller will coordinate with us. For reseller purchases, the one-year period starts on the date the customer purchased the product, as shown on the reseller receipt. We do not offer an extended warranty. For a covered defect, 4D Tech will repair or replace the product at its discretion. If the identical product is unavailable, we will offer a comparable replacement. A repaired or replacement product remains covered for the balance of the original one-year warranty measured from the purchase date; the period does not restart. Standalone parts and tools carry this defect warranty even though they are not eligible for ordinary returns. A programmer that has been used and locked to a vehicle remains covered for qualifying defects during the one-year warranty, though it cannot be returned as an ordinary return. A defective physical map card is also covered; map-data accuracy and future map updates are not covered.
Start / Stop Eliminators and 4D Tech firmware
4D Tech designs the electronics, firmware and harnesses in our Start / Stop Eliminators. Our one-year warranty covers defects in our firmware that prevent the device from working as advertised on a supported vehicle. Contact our team for support with the device and its firmware.
Ford-component upgrade kits
The software supplied in our Ford-component upgrade kits is Ford software. Ford produces and supports that software; 4D Tech does not develop it. Our warranty covers defects in the hardware we supply and errors in our vehicle-specific programming. It does not cover defects in Ford-supplied software or problems caused by later Ford software updates.
For questions about your kit or installation, contact us so we can help identify whether the issue concerns the supplied hardware, our programming or Ford software.
Damage outside warranty coverage
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse or product modification. We can review such cases individually and may offer help outside the warranty. An installation or modification alone does not automatically disqualify an unrelated covered defect; we assess what caused the issue.
Vehicle and third-party software updates
Vehicle software and connected services can change after purchase. Contact us before changing the software on a configured kit if you are unsure how an update may affect it.
How to request help
- Contact us with your order number, product and vehicle details.
- Describe what happens and when it started, including any recent installation or software changes.
- Obtain an RMA number for the warranty claim. Follow our troubleshooting or return instructions; do not send hardware without an RMA.
Shipping, labor and evaluation charges
For covered warranty claims reported more than 30 days after delivery, you pay to ship the product to us. We pay to ship it back after a covered repair or replacement. The warranty does not cover professional labor charges for installation, removal or reinstallation.
Your vehicle’s factory warranty
Our product warranty is separate from your vehicle’s factory warranty. See our vehicle warranty information for more context.
