2013–2014 F-150: no GPS or menus locked while parked

If these symptoms appear after installing your 4D Tech 4-inch to 8-inch conversion kit, check where the small GPS module T-harness is connected.

Two different connections can accept the same plug. The kit’s GPS module T-harness belongs at the GPS module, not at the hazard/traction-control switch at the top of the radio bezel. A connector fitting does not confirm that it is the correct connection.

Find the correct connection

Follow your kit’s installation instructions to access the module. In the video below, the small T-harness connection is demonstrated from approximately 13:09–13:44, in the compartment beneath the tray at the top of the dash.

1. Identify the GPS module connection shown in your kit’s installation video before connecting the T-harness.
2. Check that the T-harness is installed inline at that module, rather than at the hazard/traction-control switch.
3. Follow the installation instructions to reconnect and reassemble the vehicle.
