FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Q – “My screen is dead / black and I get NO audio - will this product fix my issue?”
- A – Yes. The 2011-2014 Edge and Explorer (and others) are extremely prone to the APIM failing causing a blank screen. If you have a black screen and no audio, this will fix the issue - guaranteed.
- Q – “My screen is dead / black but I can still hear and control the radio - will this product fix my issue?”
- A – No. If the screen is black, but the radio plays and you can control the track / volume from the physical buttons, then the issue is likely the touchscreen has failed.
- Q – “I can see what is being displayed on screen, but the screen does not respond to touch input - will this product fix my issue?”
- A – No. The touchscreen has failed and requires replacement. See our "Replacement Touchscreen for SYNC 2"
- Q – “I get the error "Entertainment Unavailable" and I cant access any music sources. Will replacing the APIM fix this error.”
- A – No. This is an issue with the ACM (Audio Control Module). We do not sell these.
- Q – “I no longer get audio from any of my sources (AM/FM/XM/CD) but the touchscreen still works. Will replacing the APIM fix this error.”
- A – No. This is an issue with the ACM. We do not sell these.
- Q – “Does this need to be programmed at the dealer?”
- A – No. We pre-program the module using the VIN you provide at checkout.
- Q – “My backup camera does not work, will this fix it?”
- A – No. Backup camera failures are common. If the backup camera is not working, it will need to be replaced.
- Q – “If I update my Sync system using the Ford SyncMyRide website, will that cause the navigation feature to be deactivated?”
- A – No. A consumer installed software update will NOT affect this navigation upgrade.
- Q – “Will this kit void my factory warranty?”
- A – No. This kit will not void your vehicle warranty. Although Ford will not warranty the components in our kit, we do for one full year!
- Q – “Will this kit affect my SiriusXM subscription?”
- A – No. SiriusXM subscriptions are NOT affected by our kit - your SiriusXM ID will remain the same.

Perfect match
I ordered this product to save the hundreds of dollars the dealer wanted to charge to replace the APIM in my 2011 Ford Edge with navigation. I was able to replace the module in less than an hour. I spoke with Steve about other issues I was having and he was a great source of information. These folks are doing a great job!

Easy installation
Everything about buying the APIM was easy. Checkout was easy... the hardest part was to get the VIN on my car. But, it was worth it to ensure the APIM had the correct software. Communication about shipping was great and I could easily track it. Most importantly, installation was easy... just like on 4Dtech's Youtube video. My Ford dealership charges more than $1000 for this repair. I easily saved $400-500 doing this myself.

This part went out on my wife's ford edge and we took it to ford were they wanted close to $900 to fix it with no warranty, I started looking around and found this product from 4dtech and liked the price and having a warranty. We received it within a few days and was simple to replace with a few hand tools and a small amount of mechanical knowledge. It works perfect and actually has some updated features. I would recommend buying this instead of paying Ford for this easy, direct replacement part.

Fast and good
It came fast.....and it worked. Installation was rather easy. I spent about half of what the dealer quoted. 2012 Ford Focus Ti June 2012 assembly but the APIM was made late 2010 and went dark at 81k

Could not believe how easy this was!
I had been trolling 4D Tech's website for several weeks because my APIM went out in my 2011 Ford Edge(and I didn't want to pay the local dealership to replace it). I kept thinking "it can't be this easy!" Well let me tell you it was! I was able to install the APIM in about 30 to 40 minutes with only a little help from my husband. I also ordered the dash tools, which were a HUGE help as well. I followed one of 4D Tech's YouTube videos for the installation and it went so smooth. My screen, radio, back up camera, heated seats and heat/air controls came on immediately after installation. I am sold on 4D Tech and their products!! Ladies if you are hesitating like I was do not wait any longer!! If I can do it you can. Thank you, thank you, thank you 4D Tech!!

Super easy and quick to install!
I'm so glad I found this website! I'm stationed in Germany, and a Ford shop here quoted me 1800 euros (equivalent to 2400 USD) just to replace the APIM, and labor! Shipping was super fast, and it literally took me 20 minutes to install it! I am SO pleased and satisfied with my purchase. I have a 2012 Explorer and the touchscreen blacked out and wasn't working for a good 6 months. I was just really hesitant to pay $2400 just to change the APIM. So thanks to 4D tech, I saved about $1800 for a job so easy it took me little to no time to complete.
