- Q – “I have manual climate and the bottom right corner of my screen just has the date. Will this add the on screen controls?”
- A – No. There is not a cost effective way to add automatic climate control.
- Q – “Will this add SYNC Connect / FordPass controls from my phone?”
- A – No. SYNC Connect is a separate modem optioned in some vehicles. We do not currently offer a kit to add this functionality.
- Q – “Will this kit void my factory warranty?”
- A – No. This kit will not void your vehicle warranty. Although Ford will not warranty the components in our kit, we do for one full year!
- Q – “Can I still update the SYNC software when updates are available?”
- A – Yes. You will still be able to update SYNC via USB thumb drive from our software updates page HERE.
- Q – “Will this kit affect my SiriusXM subscription?”
- A – No. SiriusXM subscriptions are NOT affected by our kit - your SiriusXM ID will remain the same.

**Regardless if your SYNC 2 system is navigation equipped or not, you will need to select "Navigation Version" option under "Kit Options" if you would like SYNC 3 to have navigation.

Easy upgrade for Navigation
Follow the instructions, watch the video. No problem. If you are adding it to a F250 and the usb ports are in the upper dash and you don't like cables everywhere, i installed a remote usb in a 12v plug. Works great. Oh and if you dont have hd radio before you will not have it with just this unit. It will not add anything you didn't have assigned to your VIN except the navigation if you choose that option.
Works good though. -
Sync 3 Upgrade
Purchased the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade kit, received within a few days and had it installed in 15-20 minutes. Their detailed video instructions were spot on. Great product, and their support is awesome as well !

SYNC 3 UPGRADE
It took very little time to get the parts and very easy to install. When i got the Sync 3 installed the radio didnt work so i emailed them and they got back to me on a Sunday and gave me a tip to fix the problem. It worked. The problem was the ACM needed to be unpluged for 15 min to reset it.

Awesome Unit and Customer Service
I was looking to upgrade my unit in the truck as the SYNC 2 is very flaky at times. I received my unit and installed my unit with no issues. I few days later I had problems with my climate controls being grayed out which I contacted customer support which ended me sending my unit back in. They were able to send me a very quick replacement module and I haven't had a single problem since! Thank you 4D tech for sticking by customers!!!

Great product!
Radio was East to install. Have had no issues over the last 6 months. Definitely recommend to anyone who like to retain the factory radio but wants it upgraded.

Simple to install, so much better than the old Sync
This turned out to be as easy to install, and the videos on YouTube do a great job of taking you through each step. The new Sync 3 unit works perfectly, fits like factory and is a big improvement in the utility and look of my truck. Easy to recommend.

Best upgrade you can do to an F-250
Installation was simple thanks to the instructions and everything works perfectly. I upgraded from sync 2 w/nav to the sync 3 w/nav and it is such drastic improvement. If your like me, and drive over 40k miles per year in your truck, this is a “must” upgrade. Thank you again 4D tech.
