Worth the extra $20 over OEM options
Completely plug and play and the only alternative to this cable for a Sync 2 upgrade involves splicing and soldering in a factory cable (in the cramped confines of your car cabin no less). Worth buying unless you are very comfortable with wiring work and soldering. This is the only part I bought from 4dtech for my upgrade.

Sync 2 to Sync 3 USB Media Hub Adapters.
These adapters work great it is just plug and play. It could not be any easier and it works with out have to splice any wires and run the risk of causing other problems with the wiring on you automobile especially since the wiring on the newer cars is so small.

This connector makes installing the Sync 3 hub truly plug and play. No soldering, cutting, or rewiring. Sure it costs more, but it saves time and a professional look.

Does the job
Instead of hacking up your stock harness to pin it to the media hub, this makes it an easily plug-and-play. I used it for my 2016 F-350. $50 seems a bit much, but this was the easiest/fastest option to buy at the time.
