- Choose "Add Harness & Programmer" for your appropriate screen size If you are adding to your existing screen system.
- Choose "Add 8" Screen Harness" If purchased along with our SYNC 3 Navigation upgrade kit. We will program the camera function for you.
- Choose "Camera Only" if purchased along with our 4" to 8" conversion which already has the input. We will program the camera function for you.
- Choose "Camera Only" if you have an aftermarket system with RCA camera input.
- ALL Ford screens require the camera to be powered from an ignition switched power source (one that turns on and off with the vehicle). DO NOT CONNECT YOUR CAMERA TO THE REVERSE LIGHT. The delay in the reverse lights powering the camera will cause the Ford screen to be black with no image and / or an error message to show on the screen. NEW: We now include a Plug n' Play power T harness to make powering the camera easy! Simply plugs inline with the DC power port in your truck!
- Trucks with the Long Bed and Crew Cab will need to extend the power wires and the RCA video connection. This is not hard to do, but the extra wire and RCA extension is NOT included.

Good
Overall, worked great with Sync3 upgrade from no sync, no backup camera.
Handle feels a bit cheaper than original. Biggest gripe is the lack of install video for this particular camera/latch.
Things to note that are different than F-150 tailgate camera handle install video:
- there are 4x bolts holding this on, not 2x
- there is not grommet in the driver's floor that i could find
- I had to go through the firewall main harness grommet up and to the left of the brake pedal, its a bit of a bear.
- this meant that i had less cable length than ideal, still kind of just enough (longer route plus hard to get the cable nub through the main firewall)
Provided power connector just clips in to the power connector on the 12v plug in the dash that was already exposed from the sync3 install, that was super easy. Worked perfect first try.
Once connected, the camera worked right away when shifting into reverse.
Overall worked great, would recommend, would do again. If you can buy it with the Sync3 conversion kit, you can save a few bucks on the programmer.
Hopefully they can post an install video for this at some point. -
Tailgate camera
Everything was straight forward as far as installation. Have been unable to get CANopener programmer to work. Next is to check power to obd port. If that checks out then out of ideas. Hopefully it is only a power issue, fuse, etc.

Works great, install took longer than expected
The integration with the SYNC 3 conversion is very clean. Everything feels as if it was factory installed. I'm hoping 4Dtech makes an install video specific to this setup.
I read the printed instructions, and watched the F150 numerous times and struggled with this install. The main challenge was properly connecting the power to 12V and the video into the SYNC3 conversion. After troubleshooting with an old RCA TV, and talking with 4Dtech support, we got it working. Their videos are great, so if there was one, I would have easily saved a few hours of troubleshooting. -
F-250 Super Duty Backup Camera
All of the components needed for my installation we included and the order arrived well packaged and on time. The directions were adequate but could have been supplemented with specific Youtube video. All in all, well done ✅

Tough for big trucks
Absolutely love the ease of installation and how quick it was to install , but i have a crew cab long bed and the feed cable was a bit tight getting it to reach the full length comfortably , also taping into existing power was sketch trying to determine fords color codes , but I’d suggest maybe making a Pigtail for the 12v outlet so it’s truly a plug and play . Def will recommend this product tho and am considering the 8” screen upgrade
