FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Q – “I have manual climate controls. Will this add the on screen controls?”
- A – No. There is not a cost effective way to add automatic climate control.
- Q – “Will this add SYNC Connect / FordPass controls from my phone?”
- A – No. SYNC Connect is a separate modem optioned in some vehicles. We do not currently offer a kit to add this functionality.
- Q – “Will this kit void my factory warranty?”
- A – No. This kit will not void your vehicle warranty. Although Ford will not warranty the components in our kit, we do for one full year!
- Q – “Can I still update the SYNC software when updates are available?”
- A – Yes. You will still be able to update SYNC via USB thumb drive from our software updates page HERE.
- Q – “Will this kit affect my SiriusXM subscription?”
- A – No. SiriusXM subscriptions are NOT affected by our kit - your SiriusXM ID will remain the same.

Great upgrade
Don't even look at the printed instructions. Installed it in one hour following the video. Fired up right away with no issues. Costly but I do not regret spending the money. Looks and works great.

4'' TO 8'' SYNC 3 CONVERSION
The conversion kits comes with every thing you need to complete the conversion. It is pretty simple process. Very happy with the results and looks factory installed. My only complaint was the provided paper instructions, they are a little confusing to understand at certain points. However if you watch the installed video from the website is is easy to follow and complete the conversion.

High Quality, Worth the Price
The item was exactly as described. When it arrived I was very impressed by how well packaged it was. The directions were fairly easy to follow and they also have a great video tutorial on YouTube to help as well. The video is slightly out of date, but the differences were minimal.
For me, installing OEM parts is the only option, I do not like aftermarket displays or major components, so the service the 4D Tech provides in making a custom very high quality wire harness to adapt and allow you to use Ford OEM parts is excellent.
The install process did take about an hour and fifteen minuets longer than advertised, however I spent a lot of time doing cord management to make sure it was a very clean install and that I would not have anything rattling around inside my dash.
The end result was everything I thought it would be. I am very pleased with 4D Tech and their products. -

I called and inquired as to details about the system and was advised which turned out to be correct, My purchase arrived before i was expecting it, The install was easy and went as advised.

F250 | F350 | F450 (2019) 4'' TO 8'' SYNC 3 CONVERSION FOR VEHICLES W/ SYNC
Product worked as advertised, installation was easy, only if you go by the video and not the paper instructions supplied with the product, would have never been able to install if I had only the printed instructions. I would highly recommend this upgrade if you have the 4 inch screen with sync.
Note for 4Dtech: if you ever update your install video, you note in the video if you want to swap the heated seat buttons on the bezel ( and in my case I have heated mirrors, not rear window defrost button) YOU NEED TO MENTION TO WATCH THE VIDEO ABOUT SWAPPING THE BUTTONS BE FORE YOU COMPLETE THE INSTALL. In the video it says you can watch the video on how to switch the buttons later, well I finished the install then watched the button install later to discover you would need to remove the screws from the back of the bezel to make the button swap, well that would mean removing the just installed bezel, well that ain't going to happen.
[4D Tech] Thank you for your feedback. If someone plans to perform the button swap we would recommend installing the kit up to the point of snapping in the new panel then testing the system and panel completely before disassembling the panel to do the button swap. -
